Quality and Longevity

WIKING works with one of the best and most durable tube materials that ever existed. We work closely together with our providers for several decades now. Years of research and experience caused a steady improvement of our hulls. The quality of the WIKING boats is mainly caused by the materials and our philosophy to raise our standards continuously. Regarding this, we use a material called Hypalon in our “cold vulcanization” while we use SYNOTEX in our seventh generation in thermoplastic procedures. Both procedures use five coatings and tissues.

We use the next generation of Trevira as a fabric tissue, called KoSa which offers an increased strength towards tear forces. In tear-resistance-tests we used a tissue sample of five cm and found that it sustains 350kg of weight in both directions of the tissue. These values are high above the required standards of the Norm ISO 6185. It is unnecessary to mention that the fabrics and skins Used by WIKING are resistant to UV-rays (ozone) and saltwater, and that they maintain their physical strength and elasticity within a temperature range of -20 ?C up to +70 ?C. We also pride ourselves with an exceptional air tightness of our seams as they are all glued inside and outside with an extra strip of Hypalon-fabric.
